Located on the Iberian peninsula that is shared with Spain, Portugal is on the western side of the peninsula and has a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. This location alone makes Portugal a very attractive country to visit.

Moving farther south, the Algarve is a seaside location with beautiful rock formations on the beaches and forests of pine, eucalyptus and mimosa. White houses with bright red roofs, donkey carts and more than 3,000 hours of sunshine each year makes this part of Portugal the favorite for many visitors.
